Things That Scare Men Away

For thousands of years women have sought the answer to attracting men and retaining their affections through hell, high water and – even worse – wrinkles and weight gain!
The problems most women experience when trying to attract men are sourced in their own arrogance. Men can spot a woman who is trying too hard from fifty miles away. The lady who sits on her solitary barstool at night assuring men that she loves living alone is fooling nobody, least of all the men she is trying to attract. She is given away instantly by the low cut blouse, the three inches of concealer and the false eyelashes.
Personalities aside, there are things which men find a total turn off. Many ladies consistently choose to ignore these things, thinking them unimportant details which can be addressed later, after the man of their dreams is secured. They stubbornly refuse to see that some of these turn offs are the reason men avoid them in the first place.
The first absolute no-no is the volume of your voice. If you are one of those ladies with a grating, whining voice, try to tone it down a little. There is nothing worse than sitting in a restaurant with a lady everybody has to listen to whether they want to or not. Men find this embarrassing and unacceptable.
Nagging is a complete and utter waste of time. For generations it has failed to win the affections of the male gender, yet women continue to nag ad finite in spite of spectacular failure to have any affect whatever on their male target. Why do it? Does nagging afford anyone any pleasure, to the nagger or the nagged? Men are so like children, and will run to smiles but run even faster from complaints.
Be a little reserved, ladies. If you are out with a nice man who wants to give you an enjoyable evening, do not step on his masculine role by insisting on calling the waiter instead of waiting for him to do it, by pouring the wine yourself instead of allowing him to do it, by taking the initiative to complain in spite of his offer to do it for you. Do not insist on driving if he wants to drive, and even worse do not tell him you prefer to drive because women are better drivers. We all know that but men prefer not to be reminded. Men do not like pushy, over bearing females with an obvious ability to do all things better than men. The temptation is to allow them to do just that.
Never step on a man’s private social life. Very few men will insist on joining you for a shopping expedition or complain if you want to spend some time with girlfriends. A man who wants to spend a few hours with his friends watching a football match and swearing with his friends should be left in peace to do so. The more you leave a man to enjoy his own company, the more he will seek yours.
Personally I have never been able to understand why women complain about their men wishing to spend time without them. Do these women have no hobbies of their own? The prospect of a peaceful evening sewing, writing, reading or taking a long pleasurable, solitary soak in the bath is almost irresistible to me. Not to mention the rare treat of being able to commandeer the TV remote.
Never demand anything. Ask, as charmingly as you can manage, even if you believe you are entitled to be annoyed at his failure to do a thing without being asked. In my experience, nagging to get a pelmet fitted or a light bulb changed can go on forever. Try walking past his chair with a screwdriver and see how fast he jumps to his feet. When he demands to know where you are going with his screwdriver, just tell him sweetly you did not want to disturb him. It works every time, provided you have sufficiently prepared the ground first with some DIY disasters.
Never pass over-loud opinions to his friends, never criticise him in public and always criticise him gently even in private. Men are over sensitive by reputation but I have always found them gratefully generous to women who are considerate with this sensitivity.
Ask his opinion about the things that matter to him, and do not bother him for his opinion on those things which bore him senseless.
Most of all, try to be as much yourself as possible within these demanding perimeters!

Meeting A Fashion Maven And Celebrity

It was a normal evening in Second Life and my collar sister, Fairy Contepomi and I were discussing who we should drop note card inquiries to regarding vending with us at our new shopping centre.
The previous evening having attended my first Relay for Life organizational meeting and since I wanted to make an impression I wore my “Royal Elven” outfit. Monday night, I was still wearing the outfit from Sunday and when we were talking of vendors and who are quality clothing designers in Second Life, I absentmindedly said, “Oh, Fairs, drop a note card to ShadoWiccan and his partner Wiccan Sojourner at Bewitched…you should have the Landmark.”
Promptly, forgetting about it as Papo Lungu was busy building the Shopping Centre and I was helping him by moving floral and fauna that my landscaper, Mello Bonetto, had used for my beach home, deciding what to retain and what to return his inventory!!
Sometime, later up pops a name on my radar, Wiccan Sojourner! I was completely stunned and I sent an instant message to Fairy and shrieked that Ms. Sojourner was at the mall! After greeting and welcoming her to the Jewel of Atlantis and said that the buildings would be built by end of Tuesday night and outlining rental information.
She said, “Love the outfit!”
“Thanks, I love your clothes and own quite a few items!! As does my sister Fairy!”
We chatted and Fairy teleported to the Shopping Centre and Ms. Wiccan said yes she would be interested in obtaining a rental space and offered me friendship.
In Real Life I was dying to ask her for her autograph!!! It definitely was an “oh my god;” I am meeting Ms. Wiccan Sojourner moment!! Why was this? Two reasons: One, I love her clothing, which is well known in Second Life making her one of the premier icons in the Second Life Fashion industry hence, in my personal and humble opinion, a Second Life Celebrity!
Two, she and her partner ShadoWiccan were part of the very first wave of Second Life Residents and that means they began Second Life when it was truly wobbly and unwieldy; trust me it still is, but much better I am sure! When did they come into Second Life? 2004! Their contributions of gorgeous clothing to purchase have enriched our lives, making us, the customers, beautiful!
Being well known is defined differently by everyone whether or it is in Real Life or Second Life, and meeting someone who is well known and in the fashion industry was an absolute rush for me and it was all I talked about for days after meeting my first Second Life Celebrity!!
Kitchen Bar Stools – 3 Great Benefits

There is a revolution going on in kitchens all over the world and the kitchen bar stool is taking over. No longer are people satisfied with old and tired looking chairs monopolising the little space they have.
With more people than ever opting for spacious, contemporary and modern kitchen designs the bar stool has seen a surge in popularity. Hardly surprising either when you consider all of the advantages the bar stool has over standard kitchen seating furniture. Here are three of those advantages.
Let’s start with the one I’ve already mentioned – space. Kitchen bar stools are remarkable space savers. If you’re planning a small kitchen design and are trying to cram as much as possible into the space then bar stools are an extremely viable option. Instead of a big table and surrounding chairs how about a breakfast bar and a few stools? This is much more modern and functional and the perfect solution for small kitchens.
Secondly, bar stools suit every kind of kitchen whether you have a large family or are trendy bachelors living in the city. Kids love the casual nature of them and they’re equally popular at parties where people can rest from the socialising without missing out on the sparkling conversation. The versatility of the bar stool is pretty astounding.
Finally, kitchen bar stools [http://www.kitchendesignsite.com/category/bar-stools] are fully customisable. Whether you want standard wooden stools or something more unique with padding or a specific material, no problem. You can also get stools that fold away for easy storage.
These are just three reasons to consider bar stools in your kitchen design and if you’re not already convinced then what’s the matter with you.
Choosing the Right Height Kitchen Bar Stool

Whilst you are choosing the right design and style, choosing the right height of your kitchen bar stool is essential, whether for home or commercial purposes, it is important to make sure it will fit comfortably under your kitchen counter or bar.
Here is our Danetti Guide to Choosing the Right Counter Height Bar Stool
Firstly measure your table, counter or bar from the floor to the base of the surface. Once you have this measurement, we advise that your seat needs to be 250-300mm (10-12 Inches) from the base of the surface. This ensures there is enough space between the surface and the kitchen bar stool itself.
If you want to buy a stool that will meet most height specifications, consider opting for one with a gas lift mechanism as this will have a variable height. The gas lift versions have other benefits like swivel action making it easier to get on and off.
Kitchen Counter Height Stools
If you are looking for a stool to fit under a standard kitchen counter height, we would advise a seat height between 610-670mm (24 to 26 Inches) high, in order to fit under the 890-910mm (35 to 36 Inches) counter table.
Bar Height Stools
If you are looking for a bar stool to fit under a bar height, we would advise you purchase a stool that has a seat height between 710-760mm (28 to 30 Inches) to fit under the 1010-1060mm (40 to 42 Inches) bar table height.
High Bar Height
If you are looking for seating to fit under a high bar, we would advise you purchase a bar stool that is 810-860mm (32-34 Inches) to fit under the 1140-1220mm (45 to 48 Inches) bar table height.
Spacing Your Kitchen Stools
Once you have the correct height stool, you now need to decide how many seats can fit comfortably in the space you have selected. You need to make sure there is enough room between each kitchen stool so that people can sit around the counter or bar and not feel overcrowded. We suggest that for a bar stool of 400-460mm (16-18 Inches) wide, you allow 530-560mm (21-22 Inches) of space and for one that is 480-560mm (19-22 Inches) wide, allow 610-630mm (24-25 Inches) of space between each stool.
Options in Bar Stool Covers

Bar stools are expensive and designed to be durable, but often the seat wears out before you’re ready to buy new stools. You can extend the life of your bar stools by putting on a new covers. Bar stool covers are also an affordable and simple way to update your bar or kitchen or make your stools match the new design of your kitchen.
Styles of Bar Stool Covers
Stool covers can either be permanently attached or removable. Your decision depends on the type of stool you have and the type of cover you want.
Permanent Covers
- Permanent covers require some upholstery work on your part. First you’ll need to remove the old cover by removing the staples, then stripping off the cover and batting. If you buy a finished cover, you can place it on the floor, lay the stool upside down on top of it, and re-staple it.
If you’re making your own cover, you’ll need to cut out a circle of fabric large enough to cover the seat and batting and extend to the underside. You should also replace the batting or foam. Lay the stool on top of both, trim the batting to size, and then use a heavy-duty stapler to attach the new fabric.
Removable Covers
- Removable covers also come in two styles. Simple fabric covers usually have elastic edges so you can stretch the cover over your existing seat. You don’t have to remove anything. You can also opt for a removable cover with the foam built in. You simply strip the stool down to the base, and then slide the new cover on top.
If you have a wooden or metal stool with a seat that doesn’t need a cover, you can buy a round seat cushion that attaches with fabric ties. These cushions are often very thick and comfortable. They’re also easy to remove for cleaning or redecorating.
Whatever your style or budget, you can find bar stool covers that suit your needs and your wallet.
Kitchen Stools For Easy Sitting

There are only a few things to consider when purchasing kitchen stools for your home. You have to think about size, location, materials, will they swivel and so on. They work great for kitchen counter tops when you want to eat on the fly and don’t have time to set a table. They save space as well as time and can add a fun element to your kitchen area. Match up the style of your kitchen to a style of kitchen stools and you’re set.
Don’t let comfort get overlooked though when choosing out a style. There’s nothing more annoying than a stool that makes you squirm constantly when trying to find your comfort zone. Height is another important factor to consider. If they are too short you may not reach the counter top and you will look kind of silly sitting there with your chin on the counter. You also don’t want them to be too tall. You need enough leg room to move around comfortably. Shoot for about twelve inches of legroom from the bottom of the counter. Fill your counter area with enough stools so that you can seat everyone in the house but also so that there is enough room between each stool so you’re not touching.
If you are considering a table area instead of using your counter top most kitchen stools come in a set with a table. A table and a set of four stools is the usual set up. You may have to assembly some of the parts, like the table but it will be rewarding enough when you have it all set up. Maintenance will be minimal with the right set too. Usually all it takes is a wipe down with a damp cloth.
Traditional Kitchen Bar Stools will look perfect if you are the country kitchen type. The stools will have arms typically and will swivel a bit. They will be on the heavy side but then you know you’ve purchased quality that will last a long time. Oak or cherry are the typical woods used. Some will even come with cushions that tie to the chair. You can also think about going retro and have the look of a 1950′s diner. Vinyl and polished steel complete this look from long ago. A very popular style, indeed. Modern stools incorporate a combination of wood and metal. These provide an exquisite look for a minimalist look.
Kitchen counter stools can bring out an elegant bistro aesthetic to your kitchen. Most have slender metals arms and are stylish and very modern. Clean up your kitchen with a set of kitchen stools.
Counter Stools – There Are Actually Different Than Bar Stools

Exactly what is the difference between bar stools and a counter stools? Perhaps you have heard people use the term bar stool interchangeably with a counter stool, but there is a significant between the two.
What is that difference? Well, it’s their height. You see, one of the counter variety will is approximately 24 to 26 inches high from the top of the seat to the floor, making them ideal for most (not all) kitchen counters that are 36 inches from the top of the floor. However, many counters are 40 to 42 inches off the floor, which happens to be the same as commercial bar heights. For that you would need bar stools that are about 30 to 32 inches high.
For instance, if you have a breakfast bar or pass through counter in your home you would most likely will need counter stools. However, if you have a wet bar in your home, then bar stools would probably be in order.
In either case there are a multitude of styles available to fit your needs and the reason being is they can be crafted from all sorts of materials and finished in different ways. You can purchase ones made from different woods like oak, pine, and maple, others that are crafted from metal including wrought iron and stainless steel, and there are even options that feature leather seats. Those that have leather seats are extremely comfortable and other lavish options are those that are upholstered with other soft fabrics as well.
If counter stools are what you need, decide where they will be, on the kitchen side of a breakfast bar or on the living room/dining room side. Naturally if you will have them in the kitchen you would want to make sure they matched your current décor. For this type it a good bet that you are going to want something light and perhaps whimsical. If they are on the other side in a more formal dining area perhaps a swivel chair so that it can be used to eat and face the kitchen or turn around to join in a conversation in that room.
Basically, counter stools are so versatile that you may wonder why you didn’t add them to your space before. Bar stools are also versatile too and a great way to check out all the options is by going online and doing your shopping there. Browsing through all the different choices is as easy and sifting through all the different online store fronts and when you do find something that you really like, it typically is at a pretty reasonable price. Plus, it will be sent right to you at your home so then you don’t have to waste time and money by having to go somewhere to get it.
In the end, counter stools and bar stools are pretty similar, but their one glaring difference is their height. Make sure you get the right one for the job, otherwise, you just might be out of luck if it doesn’t fit.

Outdoor Bar Stools

Outdoor barstools are used in homes and commercial spaces for gardens, game areas, balconies, barbecue parties etc. The concept behind outdoor barstools is to be able to enjoy the outdoors in the comfort of your own garden, yard, patio, or poolside. Being outdoors basically extends the living and entertaining area into a natural environment. To complement this, a variety of styles and designs are available in barstools especially for outdoors.
For outdoor barstools, it is better to buy in the material that is resistant to climate changes. This would enhance the life of the items since they could invariably be exposed to sun, rain, heat, dust and cold, depending on the climate of the area one is staying in. If the outdoor barstools are sturdy and can bear the climatic changes, then one does not need to rush out every now and then to rescue them from weather variations. And as in any outdoor furniture, it is recommended to go in for the folding type since they might need to be moved around relocated frequently. Even barstools are available in folding style.
Outdoor barstools can be had with or without backs and arms. They might be swivel or stationary, depending on need and preference. The metal varieties tend to last longer outdoors. Wooden bar stools are specially treated to survive the elements.
The height of the stools must be judged carefully. Generally the height of the barstools seat is 10 to 13 inches lower than the counter top, where they are placed. These outdoor barstools can be bought from the local furniture shops or from the Internet. But whatever type of outdoor barstool is bought, be sure to follow the suggested cleaning and maintenance instructions provided by the supplier.
